The decision to remove asbestos is often confusing for facility managers. Since asbestos is a hazardous material, one would think its identification should automatically lead to removal. However, that is not often the case because facility managers are sometimes advised to encapsulate and manage, rather than remove, asbestos and asbestos-containing material. Nonetheless, you must remember that asbestos management is only practical where the material does not pose an imminent danger to occupants' health.
